DJI understands that sometimes drones can crash and fail, and it wants to help operators take care of their drones. The company is announcing a new protection plan to offer its customers enhanced repair services. DJI Care is designed to give new and existing DJI drone owners the option of purchasing a protection plan that will cover damage to their aircraft, gimbal or camera under normal use or pilot error.
"Customer experience and after-sales service are important in building a brand and strengthening our relationship with customers," said Frank Wang, DJI's founder and CEO. "By introducing DJI Care, we want to provide our customers with peace of mind and a worry-free flight experience. This program will also encourage more people to explore aerial technology and learn about the fun and potential of flying our drones."
The protection plan comes in a six-month or one-year offering, and covers the Phantom 3 Standard, Phantom 3 4K, Phantom 3 Advanced, Phantom 3 Professional, and Inspire 1 version 2.0 with x3 gimbal camera models.
Operators can purchase DJI Care with their aircraft or separately with coverage starting at the time of purchase. The plan is not limited to a certain number of repairs, and will expire once the contract terms are completed or when repair credits are used up. Repair credits will equal the total amount of the aircraft’s retail price at the time of purchase.
