7-Eleven’s dream of delivering its goods via drones are becoming a reality with the help of drone delivery service Flirtey. Flirtey has announced it’s already made 77 autonomous drone delivers to 7-Eleven customers in the U.S.

"Flirtey is the world's leader in the drone delivery industry and we have now successfully completed the first month of routine commercial drone deliveries to customer homes in partnership with 7-Eleven," said Matthew Sweeny, Flirtey CEO. "While other companies in this space are shipping jobs overseas, Flirtey's goal is to make delivery instant, and in the process create jobs at home for hardworking Americans and veterans. This is a giant leap towards a future where everyone can experience the convenience of Flirtey's instant store-to-door drone delivery."

Flirtey is the first available commercial drone delivery service provider in the U.S. The company conducted drone flights last month to a select 7-Eleven store and a select number of customers. Customers used a custom app to request deliveries, see which items were available, and estimate when items would be delivered. The Flirtey drones delivered hot, cold and even over-the-counter medicines autonomously using GPS technology. According to the company, the average time the drone took to deliver items was less than 10 minutes from the time of order.
