Most comprehensive industry event brought together nearly 2,800 drone builders, flyers and buyers from 48 countries and all 50 states
MELVILLE, N.Y., October 5, 2015 — BZ Media LLC announced that Sunnyvale-based Vufine was voted the winner of the best new start-up contest at InterDrone. InterDrone™ The International Drone Conference & Exposition held at the Rio in Las Vegas Sept 9, 10, and 11 drew 2,797 attendees from 48 different countries around the world as well as all fifty states. The event featured nearly 100 exhibiting companies in 148 booths. Chris Anderson, CEO of 3D Robotics and founder of DIY Drones, delivered the Opening Keynote address and called that moment in time as the equivalent of the dawn of the Internet.
Vufine exhibited in a special ballroom called The Hangar with 18 other start-up drone technology companies. Attendees voted for the best start-up company by placing custom InterDrone poker chips in the bowls of the companies they thought were most promising. The winner was announced just before the DJI Keynote on September 10.
Vufine is a High Definition wearable technology display that allows you to use your current technology in a hands-free environment. Vufine works with drone flight so that you can literally see what the drone is seeing without taking your eye off the drone, allowing for a much easier piloting experience. The company raised nearly $250,000 on Kickstarter to launch.
Company President Goro Kosaka said, “We are very honored to have been recognized by InterDrone as the "Coolest Start-up" among all the other talented start-ups that we shared the Hangar space with. It was a great surprise when the InterDrone president came up to us towards the end of the show and let us know that we had won and needed to be on stage for the award presentation. For nearly 3,000 attendees to vote for us as best was validation for all the hard work we have put into our product.”
Exhibitors and sponsors at InterDrone included Diamond Sponsor Multicopter Warehouse, 3D Robotics, DJI, PrecisionHawk, Yuneec, DroneDeploy, Pix4D, Intel, Cisco, Epson, and Accel Partners. The InterDrone technical program was spread across three conferences, Drone TechCon™, for builders, engineers and software developers; Drone Flyer™ for UAV pilots and operators; and Drone Business™ for drone dealers and service businesses. 138 drone industry experts taught sessions or spoke on panels at InterDrone, and just over 1,000 of the nearly 3,000 attendees took the full three days of technical classes and sessions.
InterDrone 2016 will be held at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas from September 7-9, 2016.
