3D Robotics drones are going overseas. The company has announced a partnership with the Japanese trading company Shibamoto to bring its drones and enterprise solutions to the market. According to 3DR, this marks the company’s first international enterprise launch.
Shibamoto will sell 3DR drones to Japanese farmers through its joint venture subsidiary New Holland HFT.
“Matched with the Precision Land Management techniques and products that we are offering, 3DR’s drones will give our customers ever more information about their crops, and will aid in their drive to reduce their costs and improve their yields,” wrote Masaaki Shibamoto, president and COO of New Holland HFT, in 3DR’s blog.
In addition to bringing drones to Japanese farmers, Shibamoto will also work with Japanese universities to bring drone education to its agriculture and robotics departments
“We’re thrilled over our entry into the Japan market, and could not have picked a better representative than Shibamoto & Co,” said Chris Anderson, CEO of 3DR, in the blog. “They have a proven record of representing leading brands in the Japan market, with a commitment to customer support. We share that passion, and I’m looking forward to serving our new customers in this dynamic market.”
