After months of teases and anticipation, GoPro is finally unveiling the Karma drone.
“We’re stoked to launch Karma and show how much more it is than a drone,” said Nicholas Woodman, founder and CEO of GoPro, in an announcement. “Karma packs Hollywood-caliber aerial, handheld and gear-mounted image stabilization into a backpack for US$799. It’s so easy to use, a beginner can have fun straight away.”
Karma has been in the works since last year, and it is the company’s first drone.
Karma is designed to be compact and foldable—fitting into a backpack—and it features a controller with touch display and removable three-axis camera stabilizer. Users can purchase it without a GoPro camera, or with the company’s recently announced Hero 5 Black or Hero 5 Session cameras.
Karma will be available on Oct. 23, just in time for the holiday season.
